Getting Started
Your First Telephone Call
When you first contact Memories, we'll ask you for some basic information about your loved one and the circumstances of their death.
We'll also ask who will be involved in making the funeral arrangements so we know who to keep in contact with.
We may ask whether you are considering a burial or a cremation, and if there are any religious or cultural requirements we should be aware of.
Don't worry if you haven't made any decisions yet.
We can explain the different options and discuss them with you when you're ready.

Meeting to Arrange the Funeral
Following our first conversation, we'll arrange a convenient time to go through the funeral arrangements in more detail.
You're welcome to meet us at either our Romiley or Offerton funeral home, or if you'd feel more comfortable in your own surroundings, we're very happy to visit you at home. We can also arrange an appointment by telephone if that's more convenient.
During the appointment, we'll discuss the type of funeral you'd like, the service itself, any personal touches and the practical arrangements involved.
We'll also explain the paperwork, provide professional advice and answer your questions. There's no need to rush through the conversation.

Confirming the Details
We'll contact the crematorium, cemetery, officiant and any other relevant parties to arrange dates, times and services, subject to availability.
Everything in Writing
We'll send you an email confirming what we've discussed, the arrangements being made and the next steps. If anything is outstanding, we'll explain what we still need from you.
Ongoing Support
We'll stay in contact as the funeral approaches, answer any further questions and be available for guidance following the funeral too.
